Introducing “Choir Wars”! 🌟
You guys. I tried something new this year. I love teaching choir, but I was stuck in a rut and starting to feel that “teacher burnout”. I decided it was time for a new project. And boy, did it make a difference!
So this school year, I implemented something new in my choirs. I’m so happy I did. The students LOVED it and so did I. And I wanted to share with you.
Introducing “Choir Wars”! 🌟
“Choir Wars” is a flexible, year-long program designed to fit the unique needs of your choir, whether you want to use it for a quarter, a semester, or the entire school year.
Here’s how it works:
Create Teams: I recommend making sections (e.g., Sopranos, Altos) into teams.
Team Building: Start with some easy setup and fun team-building activities included in the program. 🤝
Weekly Fun: Follow one of the provided schedules to incorporate a team-building activity or a singing game competition once a week. 🎤

35 Singing and Music Games: From “Sing or Dare” to “Lip Sync Battle” and everything in between. 🎵

My “Fun Friday” tradition evolved this past year to include these engaging activities throughout the week, creating friendly competition between choir teams. The best part? It didn’t interfere with our concert preparation. The teacher is in control and chooses activities/games that work for them, when they have the time.
